HE/HIM/HIS
Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Rami came to the United States in 2018 to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the University of New Haven. His interest in conflict resolution drew him to Restorative Justice. El Gharib has a long history of working with the LGBTQ+ community and has recently established an LGBTQ+ youth safe space in rural Colorado that incorporates restorative practices.
Ames Stenson, board Member & co-Founder
THEY/THEM/THEIRS
Ames hails from Colorado and their family tree has been rooting on stolen land in the west since the 1770s. With a background in Criminal Justice, Theology, Social Work, and Restorative Practices, Ames currently serves as the Program Manager with the City of Englewood Municipal Court Restorative Justice program; is the Interim Vice President for the Colorado Coalition for Restorative Justice Practices; works with the National Association of Community and Restorative Justice in offering virtual programming; teaches at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work and is a proud founding board member of the Restorative Rainbow Alliance. Ames is deeply appreciative of all of the people they have gotten to work with over the last 11 years to deepen their practice, skills and understanding of Restorative Justice Practices and Transformative Justice as on-going learning opportunities and ways of being. When not working, Ames can be found outside playing with their loved ones hiking, biking, geocaching, and exploring; singing, reading, traveling and (hopefully) on some kind of adventure!
